in our large format class we learned about using multiple flash pops to light an object (painting with light, in a way), as well as the Sinar method for calculating a specific depth of field and finding the correct exposure for both the camera settings and the flash. while it was very time consuming to have to stop set up every time someone in another studio bay yelled "dark!" and turned off all the lights to shoot their assignment, i really enjoyed this process...

ooh i love this katherine!!! beautiful light, great contrast, way to make something creepy look pretty at the same time!!
ReplyDeletei need a copy of this STAT. i'm not kidding. if i give you print paper, will you print a copy? i need this hanging in my house. it is so creepy and perfectly describes my feelings towards babies and dolls (especially baby dolls)
ReplyDeleteThis is excellent. Probably one of my favorites of your work. It manages to be innocent and creepy at the same time. I love the warm tone against the black background. This would make an excellent book cover for some sort of horror/thriller novel. Send it to Stephen King and see if he has a book about haunted dolls in the works.
